Cabrera es un municipio de la República Dominicana, que se encuentra en la provincia de María Trinidad Sánchez.

Culture and history info
The municipality was created as Cantonal Post on July 5, 1891. Before its creation as a municipality it was known as the Tres Amarras Section, in honor of the orographic cape of Tres Amarras. In that place, according to history, during the first trip, Admiral Christopher Columbus, sought refuge and had to strengthen the moorings of his boats so as not to embarrass. In 1834 it was a section of the military post of Matanzas, of the Common of San Francisco de Macorís, province La Vega; in 1907, he became part of the Pacifier district (current Duarte province); in 1947 it was part of the province of Samaná and in 1959, when the María Trinidad Sánchez province was created, it ended up being one of its municipalities.
Economy
